Projects

I have been, or am currently, involved in the following projects with the Argumentation Research Group (ARG) at the University of Dundee:

  • Dialectial Argumentation Machines
The EPSRC-funded Dialectical Argumentation Machines (DAM) project is working to deploy argumentation technologies online. My PhD research is connected to this project
  • OVA: Online Visualisation of Argument
The Online Visualisation of Argument (OVA) work centres on a number of tools designed to facilitate argument analysis and manipulation in online environments, with a focus on diagrammatic visualisations.
  • ArgDB
An online corpus of analysed argumentation, building on AraucariaDB but using the open AIF standard for argument representation.

Away from ARG, I am currently the marking co-ordinator for the School of Computing's two first year undergraduate Java modules, and the tutor for Java Online, a distance-learning Java course.

Previously, I worked as a tutor for the Angus Articulation project, in conjunction with Angus College, which aimed to smooth the transition for HNC and HND students that were eligible for advanced entry to Dundee's Applied Computing degree programme.
